A Bigger Podium…
Three different people at different stages in my life, made statements about me that led me to believe that I was not being all I could be. I was told: “Don’t be afraid to shine” by a senior landscape architect I worked with, “What are you going to do with all that passion?” by a structural engineer” from a non profit organization I belonged to, and “Let your personality shine and everything will be ok” by my current boss, not too long ago. Was I really afraid to step on a bigger podium? Was I really afraid to shine?
This morning, I brought some of my artwork, for show and tell, to a day long workshop for artists organized by my job. I went there not as an employee, but as an artist. I talked about myself and where I wanted to take this now 10-month-old adventure, which started with a simple line study exercise. I got some great feedback from art lovers and fellow artists and I realized that I would not have been able to do this without this blog.
I want to give a special thank you to all my followers and visitors who have helped me open up to the world, share my work with total strangers, and in the process get better as an artist. Your visits and feedbacks are truly valuable to me.
