The Millennial Generation

The millennial generation is mostly in college right now, just finishing or about to enter college and they are already shaping the way we design and see the world.  For example, studies have found that they are more interested in owning a bike and riding everywhere than they are interested in buying a car.  The same way the baby boomers impacted the way of living of the generations that followed theirs, the millennial generation will have a tremendous impact on how we relate to the built and natural environment.  For one, the cities of the future will have to be more bike and pedestrian friendly.  This is one fact most city officials, urban planners and designers are acutely aware of in their efforts to attract the much-coveted creative class.  For what we have seen so far people in Delray Beach are planning accordingly.
